ICTs in school

How ICTs are used in the school.

1: Algebraix: Algebraix is a comprehensive educational platform for students, teachers, school services, administrative services and parents. In other words, is a platform that it function is to have an administration to the grades, works, quizzes, exams, etc. And also can tell the parents the actions of the student for reports or messages the teacher send. We often use algebraix in the school to know the homework we have, reports, exams we are going to have and more stuff. 

2: Computers: A computer is a programmable machine. The two principal characteristics of a computer are: It responds to a specific set of instuctions in a well-defined manner and it can execute a prerecorded list of instructions (a program). Computers are very common with the teachers, because they can have the grades of the students in programs like numbers, word, excel, etc. It makes in some way their work a little bit more easy, because with new programs the grades are now automatically putted by the computer. Also are used to make presentations, explain their classes and put activities or homework in algebraix. 

3:IPads: In basic terms, the iPad is a tablet or "slate" computer. Is also a device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and more. In other words, an iPad is like a device that is like a computer that have its basic functions with it. The IPad is the main gadget or device used by the students on secundaria Tec de Monterrey. We use it to make projects, activities, investigations, homework, etc. Is important for us also because we can do the activities put us in different platforms to make them. 

4:Showbie: Showbie is an app used by teachers to assign, collect, and review student work. Showbie keeps student work organized by classes and assignments. At a glance, students can see their upcoming assignments and due dates so they can prioritize their work. This application is such a very good innovation for the students, because it let us get more easily our homework or work. For example Dropbox is also a good application but in showbie when teachers upload your work, grade, etc ,it sends you a notification and is instantaneous. Is really usefull in our assignments of History, English, Chemistry and Math. 

5:DropBox: DropBox is a free cloud storage service for sharing and storing files including photos, documents and videos. We use Dropbox in a very simple way. The teachers upload documents, works or homeworks and we have to do it. In Dropbox we get all of our works and projects (or almost all) and we do it in other programs like GoodNotes or Pages. 

6:Pages: The Pages app is the Mac word processor similar to Microsoft Word on the Windows side of things. In the school we use pages like a word program, but in the iPad. Generally we use it to do essays or projects (for example this project). In my opinion this is an excellent application because is like having word in your iPad but, with advantages for it. This advantages help a lot for the work we do, and do it kind of more easy. 

7:Image Projector (canyon): A video projector uses a video source input played internally on a small screen. Light is shone through the screen, then captured and focused by a lens or multiple lenses to display on a surface at a given distance. In school there it is one in any classroom you visit. It is used for the teachers by putting their presentations to explain the class topics or to see a video to improve the learning of the students. It is really usefull because it caugh you, really can't no get even a little bit of attention with this. This method is used almost by every teacher of the school to capt your attention.

8:Meraki: Meraki Systems Manager mobile device management solution provides cloud-based centralized management, diagnostics, monitoring and security of the mobile devices in your organization. Now, you can manage deployments of all devices without an on-site appliance. Managed devices connect securely to Meraki cloud. Locate devices, deploy software and apps, deliver content, enforce security policies and monitor all of your devices through an intuitive web-based dashboard. In our school is used by “informática” for monitoring, have security that we don’t do bad things, have diagnostics and a lot of more other things. In other words is used to know what we do in our iPads and have like a differentiated data of every student in the school. 

My opinion of ICTs 

I think that the ICTs is super important in our lives , because actually, lives depend literally in technology. In the school we use the iPads for doing our work, studying and learning. I mean literally we depend in a way of the technology (in this case the iPads and the computers) of our education, and I don’t know if that is good or bad. 

Other thing that I thing that depends a lot of ICTs are the business. In other years you don’t really depend at all in technology, you depend more in your contacts and the way you talk. And now your business can be a 100% in your computer, for example Facebook depends in technology because they depend of the technology.

The school really need technology right now, because the new jobs, new generations in a future are going to be working with a lot of technology and se really need to know how does it work, to not have a lot of trouble in the future.
